By accessing or using Mentorbud, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. ABOUT MENTORBUD

Mentorbud is an online marketplace that connects individuals seeking educational, academic, university, career, research, and student-life guidance (“Mentees”) with independent mentors, graduates, students, researchers, professionals, and content creators (“Mentors”).

Mentorbud operates solely as a technology platform facilitating introductions, communications, bookings, payments, events, and educational resources.

Mentorbud does not provide mentoring services directly unless expressly stated.

2. DEFINITIONS

Platform

The website located at: Mentorbud

including all related applications, services, software, communications, and content.

Mentor

A user offering services, consultations, events, courses, or educational support through the Platform.

Mentee

A user purchasing, attending, or receiving services through the Platform.

Services

Any mentoring session, consultation, event, course, workshop, digital product, educational content, or other offering made available through the Platform.

3. ELIGIBILITY

You need to be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Users under 18 may only use Mentorbud with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By using the Platform, you confirm that:

  • You have legal capacity to enter into contracts.
  • Information provided is accurate.
  • You will comply with applicable laws.

4. MARKETPLACE STATUS

Mentorbud is not:

  • A university
  • An educational institution
  • An immigration adviser
  • An immigration law firm
  • A legal services provider
  • A recruitment agency
  • A visa consultancy
  • A government body
  • A financial adviser

Mentorbud does not provide regulated immigration advice.

Mentorbud merely provides technology that allows independent users to interact and transact.

Any advice, opinions, recommendations, or information provided by Mentors are solely those of the individual Mentor.

5. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOMES

Mentorbud does not guarantee:

  • University admissions
  • Scholarship awards
  • Visa approvals
  • Graduate visa eligibility
  • Student visa approvals
  • Accommodation availability
  • Employment opportunities
  • Internship opportunities
  • Academic success
  • Research funding
  • Professional licensing
  • Salary levels
  • Immigration outcomes

Any educational or career decisions made by users are entirely at their own risk.

Past results experienced by Mentors do not guarantee future results for Mentees.

6. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

Users are responsible for:

  • Maintaining account security
  • Protecting passwords
  • Ensuring account information remains accurate

You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.

Mentorbud may suspend or terminate accounts where:

  • False information is provided
  • Fraud is suspected
  • Terms are violated
  • User conduct creates legal risk

7. MENTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentors agree that they:

  • Will provide truthful profile information
  • Will accurately represent qualifications
  • Will act professionally
  • Will treat users respectfully
  • Will comply with applicable laws

Mentors must not:

  • Guarantee admissions
  • Guarantee scholarships
  • Guarantee visas
  • Guarantee employment
  • Misrepresent qualifications
  • Engage in deceptive marketing
  • Offer regulated immigration advice where not legally authorised

Mentors act solely as independent service providers.

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between Mentorbud and any Mentor.

8. MENTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentees agree:

  • To provide accurate information
  • To conduct their own independent research
  • Not to rely solely on Mentor advice
  • To verify official university and government requirements independently

Official university admissions requirements, immigration rules, visa requirements, and government regulations may change at any time.

Mentees remain responsible for their own decisions and applications.

9. BOOKINGS AND SERVICES

Mentors may offer:

  • University application guidance
  • Personal statement reviews
  • SOP reviews
  • Interview preparation
  • IELTS preparation
  • English language support
  • Research proposal guidance
  • PhD application support
  • Scholarship application support
  • Accommodation guidance
  • Campus orientation
  • Career mentoring
  • Graduate employability advice
  • Events
  • Workshops
  • Courses
  • Other educational services

Mentorbud does not review, verify, endorse, or guarantee the quality, legality, suitability, or accuracy of services offered by Mentors.

10. FEES AND PAYMENTS

Prices are determined by individual Mentors unless otherwise stated.

By making a booking, you authorise payment of all applicable fees.

Mentorbud may charge:

  • Platform fees
  • Service fees
  • Processing fees
  • Commission fees

All fees displayed are subject to applicable taxes.

11. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

Refunds and cancellations are governed by the Mentorbud Refund Policy.

Mentorbud reserves the right to investigate disputes before issuing refunds.

Refund eligibility may depend on:

  • Cancellation notice period
  • Service completion status
  • Technical failures
  • Fraud investigations
  • Violations of these Terms

12. EVENTS

Mentors may organise online or physical events.

Mentorbud is not responsible for:

  • Venue issues
  • Travel arrangements
  • Accommodation arrangements
  • Event cancellations
  • Personal injury
  • Third-party conduct

Attendance at events is at the user’s own risk.

13. DIGITAL COURSES AND CONTENT

Mentors may offer:

  • Courses
  • Training materials
  • Downloadable resources
  • Educational content

Users receive a limited, non-transferable licence for personal use only.

Users may not:

  • Copy
  • Redistribute
  • Resell
  • Reproduce
  • Publish
  • Share purchased content

without written permission.

14. USER CONTENT

Users may submit:

  • Profiles
  • Reviews
  • Comments
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Course content
  • Event descriptions

Users retain ownership of content they create.

However, by submitting content, users grant Mentorbud a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute such content for operation and promotion of the Platform.

15. REVIEWS AND RATINGS

Mentorbud may allow users to leave reviews.

Reviews must be:

  • Honest
  • Accurate
  • Respectful

Mentorbud may remove reviews that are:

  • False
  • Defamatory
  • Offensive
  • Manipulative
  • Fraudulent

16. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

Users must not:

  • Commit fraud
  • Harass others
  • Impersonate individuals
  • Circumvent platform payments
  • Submit false information
  • Infringe intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious software
  • Violate applicable laws
  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes

17. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All Platform software, branding, trademarks, designs, graphics, databases, and content remain the property of Mentorbud or its licensors.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership rights to users.

18. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Mentorbud may integrate with third-party services including:

  • Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (“Zoom”)
  • Google Maps
  • Open Street Map
  • Stripe
  • PayPal
  • Analytics providers
  • Cloud hosting providers

Mentorbud is not responsible for third-party products or services.

Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

19. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentorbud disclaims all warranties, including:

Accuracy
Reliability
Availability
Fitness for purpose
Merchantability
Non-infringement

Mentorbud does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform.

20. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Mentorbud shall not be liable for:

  • Admission refusals
  • Visa refusals
  • Immigration consequences
  • Scholarship rejections
  • Academic outcomes
  • Employment outcomes
  • Loss of profits
  • Loss of business opportunities
  • Loss of reputation
  • Indirect losses
  • Consequential damages

Mentorbud’s total liability arising from any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by the user to Mentorbud during the preceding twelve (12) months.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

21. INDEMNIFICATION

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mentorbud, its directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • User conduct
  • Violation of these Terms
  • Misuse of the Platform
  • Services offered by Mentors
  • Disputes between users

22. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

Mentorbud may suspend or terminate accounts without notice where necessary to:

  • Protect users
  • Prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Protect Platform integrity

Upon termination, access to the Platform may be removed immediately.

23. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Mentorbud may update these Terms periodically.

Updated Terms become effective upon publication.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

24. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

25. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before commencing legal proceedings.

If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of England and Wales.

26. Zoom Integration

Users may voluntarily connect their Zoom account to Mentorbud through Zoom’s authorization process. By connecting a Zoom account, the user authorises Mentorbud to access and use approved Zoom functionality necessary to create, update, and manage mentorship session meetings.

The user acknowledges that:

(a) the Zoom account remains under the user’s ownership and control;

(b) Mentorbud does not control Zoom’s services, availability, security practices, or policies;

(c) the user remains responsible for complying with Zoom’s terms, policies, and applicable laws;

(d) Mentorbud may discontinue or modify Zoom-related features at any time without liability.

Users may disconnect their Zoom account at any time through account settings or through Zoom’s own authorisation management tools.
